- Excellent quality Spanish mackerel is available at te moment.
- Cod prices remain high.
- Haddock is plentiful and at a good price.
- Loch Duarte Salmon is unavailable till Wednesday due to bad weather las week.
- Clams are now readily available
Buyer Reccomedations – March 2012
- Pollock: We should see a resurgence of line caught and netted fish with no quota and is a buyers choice
- Lemon Sole: Lemon Sole season is now in full swing with some excellent value being seen at auctions in the southwest , larger sizes are at a premium but smaller fish should be snapped up . Buyers tip
- Brill: Is great condition and good landings seen in the south , fully in season all sizes buyers choice.
- Sea Bass & Guilthead Bream: Value continues to look good on both species for the next month , with some stability in supply from all farms . Guilt Head Bream is showing best value and is a buyers pick for March.
- Whiting and Pout Whiting: Some nice day boat landings on both species of the sustainable un quota fish , plenty of value although gradings are difficult , small , medium and large . Should not put you off getting a good deal and is a buyers recommendation .
- Monkfish: Buyers tip for March , new quotas are available in the south west and Scottish landings are plentiful with good value . All sizes from 8-10oz tails up to 2kg on offer .
- Red and Tub Gurnards: These continue to improve in landings , quality and value and are now a buyers recommendation.

- Italian clams will be short until Friday due to bad weather conditions in Italy
- Palourdes will be available from tomorrow 100kg being delivered.
- Mackerel is very expensive as its out of season, we will be looking to buy from Spain next week as it will be much cheaper.
- Extreme winds in Scotland towards the end of week- fish like Monk, Hake and Coley may increase in price because we will be buying from the south coast.
- Good landings from South coast.
- 2/3kg Large cod fillets will increase by 20% in price low landings in Norway

- There are currently no Italian clams available due to the weather in Italy. Availability should be back to normal next week. Palourdes are available as an alternative.
- There is also no mackerel available at the moment.
- Availability is good for nearly all other products.
